Testimonial
When I was 5 years old, my mom enrolled me in abacus, but I lacked focus and wanted nothing to do with numbers. However, as I grew older, I found a love in practice, consistency, and, most of all, with abacus. There was no better feeling than seeing your practice pay off, even if it was beating your past score by one question. Abacus gave me stability in my life; whenever I was stressed, I always resorted to abacus--the comforting click of the beads and the "autopilot" feeling of solving questions.
Additionally, I found a joy in the community I built around abacus. From taking classes with high school seniors when I was only in fourth grade, to now being a senior myself and taking classes with those much younger than me, it's bittersweet to finally come full circle. When I was younger, I remember looking up to the seniors and thinking they were insane for the questions they were able to do. Now as a senior, it's nice to know I can be a role model and hopefully inspire the younger kids to keep persevering!
